WHY do I need a mailing list?

I know this sounds like an obvious question and answer, but many small business owners don’t really see the value of an email list. Many believe that most emails end up in the spam or trash folder of a client’s email. Not true when you give your list what they want.

And what they want is value. Valuable information that can help them with their problems related to your business or organization. When you email items of real interest to your community or following… it is appreciated. If it’s really good, they will even pass it on or ‘share’ it. Talk about it. Respond back to you.

Any of these emails make for furthering the conversation letting your team know what your tribe is really after. Their problems, issues, or concerns. The things that matter most to them that you may be able to help them with. That’s winning. That’s a winning email campaign that will grow and grow and give you value over and over.

WHY do I need a call to action?

First… let’s define a call to action. A call to action is really a ‘direction’ for your visitor. A way for them to go, or at least the way you would like them to go. Without a call to action for your visitor, they can simply peruse your information while you miss the boat. This boat is called your ‘community boat’. A call to action can simply be  ‘join my newsletter list’.

Or, it could be more evasive. Here are some examples:

However you decide to implement your call to action is up to you, the important thing to remember is that these items each ‘call’ your visitor to take action to receive this important information that will help them with a problem they may be having.

In turn, you will capture their email address. You will begin using their email address to further send them valuable news, tips, freebies, updates, events… all things that your following will come to appreciate greatly. Eventually, you will win the heart of this visitor and turn them into a life-long customer or client.


WHY do I need to be on Facebook?

We get this one a lot. There really isn’t a right or wrong answer either. It depends totally on YOU! If you really want to build your following… your tribe, then you must use either social media or your mailing list. Or better yet, both. One can drive the other. This is where bricks and mortar businesses and organizations excel more easily. Of course to do this, you must integrate your ‘offline’ marketing efforts with your ‘online’ efforts. Synergistically, these efforts combined can be very powerful in building your community.

On the other hand, if you feel that social media isn’t for you, then it isn’t. It takes work, tenacity and persistence all year long, and a good, solid method for doing it.

The rewards can be a tribe that loves you. A tribe that loves your business, talks about you, shares posts about your business and what you’re doing in the community. A loyal following of customers, clients and fans. Even if they aren’t your customer today, they are a fan of your business or organization because of what you’re doing socially, by well… being social. By sharing and educating, this will build the loyal fans of your business for years to come.

WHY do I need a responsive website?

We are a very mobile people. As such, we now expect to find everything we need to know from our mobile devices, tablets and laptops. Unfortunately, websites have not adapted these new trends. It’s really a widespread problem and simply just converting your present site to a mobile friendly site is generally causing more problems than they are worth.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has recently began telling website owners that their websites must be mobile-friendly to comply with FTC’s new digital advertising guidelines. They are receiving multiple complaints from consumers who cannot read the ‘small print’ of different offers from marketers and advertisers.

At the end of the day, it’s really as simple as doing a service for your site visitors, customers and clients so that they can have equal accessibility while viewing the content on your site.


WHY do I need a web presence?

Mostly because your customers have come to expect it. A visitor to your site is someone who has come for specific information, so give it freely. Answer what they have come for. Ask questions yourself when you are with our clients and customers about what brought them to you.
